Communal Coffee - San Diego
ince my best friend moved to San Diego just over a month ago, I have been LOVING the opportunity to head down there more often. I know Hollywood has captured the World’s attention, making Los Angeles one of the most revered destinations, but to me, LA cannot even compete with the charm and laid back vibe of San Diego.
On one of my latest trips to visit Walley (previously mentioned BFF) we had brunch reservations at The Great Maple. Naturally, being the self-proclaimed coffee snobs we are, we decided to stop at a local cafe (Communal Coffee) before to satisfy our coffee quota for the day. As neither of us are familiar with the area, we simply Googled some cafes nearby and randomly chose one based on the reviews.
Pulling up to Communal Coffee in North Park, San Diego, we had no idea what a gem we were about to discover. From the moment we walked through the doors we knew we were in an incredibly unique and special place. Owner, Jen Byard, began Communal Coffee with the vision of creating a space that encouraged community.
Not only can you choose from their distinct selection of beverages and foods (menu show in the photos below), but the atmosphere is absolutely one-of-a-kind. Their collaboration with Native Poppy, a local floral company, allows you to enjoy your coffee surrounded by the beauty of fresh flowers. Feel yourself relax into the casual and comforting atmosphere of Communal Coffee as you watch the baristas prepare picture-perfect food and Native Poppy creates enviously beautiful bouquets of flowers.
Communal Coffee is so incredibly creative the best way to share its beauty and uniqueness with you is through photos! With that said, I hope the following photo tour of Communal Coffee lures you into their picturesque and entrancing café. Now can we have one in Orange County please??

So many coffee places are very dark inside. I love how they have made the atmosphere in Communal Coffee bright. Flowers feed my soul.
